Burney Falls Pavement

The Project:

The Burney Falls Pavement project, in Shasta County on State Route (SR) 89 is about six miles east of Burney from 0.2 mile north of Route 299 to 0.6 mile north of Lake Britton Road.

Project Benefits:

This project will benefit motorists traveling through that stretch of SR 89, by restoring the roadway to a state of good repair, requiring minimal maintenance.

Project Includes:

Overlaying 19 miles of the roadway with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), lengthening the existing northbound left-turn lane into McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, replacing/upgrading guardrail and signs, and replacing nine culverts. Two maintenance vehicle pullouts will be paved, and a traffic monitoring station will be moved.

Current Project Schedule:

It is estimated this project will take 120 workings days and will begin in spring/summer of 2024.
