I-80 Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Project Description:
This project is demolishing and rebuilding four Interstate 80 bridge overcrossings in Placer County: Crystal Springs, Baxter, Drum Forebay and Cisco Grove. All overcrossings are being widened to include 8-foot shoulders, 6-foot sidewalks and will include ramps that comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
Purpose and Need:
The purpose of this project is to replace the deficient structural components at four locations along Route 80 in Placer County. Due to the severity of the transverse and longitudinal cracks in the concrete decks, spalling concrete, and high corrosive chloride content in the concrete deck surfaces, bridge superstructures and substructures are in need of major rehabilitation or replacement.
