ALAMEDA COUNTY — Caltrans has rescheduled the closure of the State Route 61 Webster Tube to Wednesday, April 24, 2024. The closure is overnight only. The tube will be open in the daytime. The Webster and Posey tubes connect the cities of Alameda and Oakland.
The Webster Tube will close at 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 and reopen at 4:30 a.m. the following morning.
The tube will be open in the daytime. The closures are nighttime only. The purpose of the closures is to accommodate maintenance work. Work will be postponed if it rains.
The tube had been scheduled to close Wednesday, April 17. The closure is rescheduled to Wednesday, April 24.
The Posey Tube will remain open.
Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be at the sites during the closures.
