U.S. 101 Water Repair Project in Ventura

Location and Limits

In Ventura, there will be an extended left lane closure of northbound U.S. Highway 101 south of California Street. Two right northbound lanes will remain open.

The Project

The U.S. 101 Water Repair Project will replace or repair an underground pipe that is causing wet roadway conditions for motorists. A half-mile stretch of the northbound highway will be cordoned off to complete the work, which involves digging up the pavement or median to reach what may be a broken or clogged pipe that is allowing water to seep up to the center divider and left lane on U.S. 101. The project is expected to be completed before or by spring 2024. The contractor is Burns Pacific Construction, Inc. of Thousand Oaks. All work is subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues. Residents and businesses located near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities. Caltrans reminds drivers to “Be Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

Background
